Basics on Auto Body Works: Car Audio Installation, Body Kit Services, and the Works
Going to an auto repair shop to get your car fixed or upgraded for the first time in Tampa can get a little intimidating. With so much on the services menu, getting overwhelmed is but a normal response especially if you have no knowledge about car repair. There are two major categories of auto repair and upgrade services:
Tune-Up
Your car should receive a tune-up (often referred to as a "major service") every two years or 30,000 miles, whichever comes first. During this tune-up, your car will receive some new parts that will hopefully keep it out of the shop for a while. A tune up covers changing the spark plug and other faulty wirings in your car. Tune ups also include replacement and cleaning of filter fuel, especially if it's clogged. Then there are battery replacement, PVC repair, clutch and valve adjustment, tire and rims alignment, and fluid checks. This is basically a general check up for the car.
Tires, wheels, and rim alignment and replacement are the most commonly availed services because this is the external part of the car that gets the most abuse. The wear and stress on the wheels causes misalignment which also results to a more difficult driving and steering experience. When you're car keeps pulling to the side, that's a sign for the need to align your tires and wheels. Having your wheels fixed gives you (1) reduced tire wear, meaning your tires get even distribution of work and stress; (2) Better gas mileage with reduced resistance while driving; (3) Improved car handling, and of course; (4) Safe driving. According to Unique Auto Sport of Tampa, as a general rule, have your vehicle's tires checked every 10,000 miles or at least once a year.
This category also covers repair or installation of your car audio and navigation system. Shops can rewire your car audio system to new media software, or add new hardware such as speakers. They can also rewire your car for a new portable GPS Navigation system for more efficient driving. The charge for this service varies per auto shop in Tampa so you can check out their costing first if you're on a budget.
Auto Body Kit Repair and Upgrades
These services are often availed when you're going for a customized and polished look for your car. For example, new cars need to get at least window tinting before anything else. Window tinting is available in almost all auto repair shops in Tampa so it shouldn't be a problem.
Body kit repairs and upgrades generally have to do customizing with auto parts such as the hood, lights, grills, interior accessories, the body kit itself, paint job, rims, and electronics. When in need of a car aesthetic upgrade, these are the services you can look at. Body kit works are delicate and yes, more expensive services. Scratches and bumps are the most common body kit problems so this is where the shop addresses those fender benders.
Installation of "pimped-out" parts like subs, grills, leather interiors, and several car video screens is also an important aspect of this category. There's nothing like a personalize vehicles that shows your personality. However, as already mentioned, be ready to be set back a few thousand dollars for these custom-type services.

Tuning a drum to play rock?
I want that wicked rock sound, are there any tips out there for tuning the kit or certain drums for that kind of sounds? would really help thanks.
This is a very vague question but I will do my best!
First off you need to know that if you have a "wicked" sound in mind from a favourite album that probably a good 50% of the sound is EQ,reverb and other processing that is going on in the studio. Basically not "natural" sounds coming off the instrument. So keep that in mind. You can get awesome sounds, but they won't sound like that.
Next it is possible to get good sounds from a cheap kit, but it will be a lot harder. Always have good skins and change them when they are getting older than a year or severely pitted/dented. I recommend changing ALL the tom skins and not just one. You can change a kick or snare skin whenever but if you have just one new tom skin it will be harder to match it with the others.
Another thing to consider is the size of the drums. If you have tiny toms you won't be able to make them sound like cannons and vice versa. I see a lot of beginners trying to get "deep" sounds from small drums...they end up loosening up the heads too much and then the skins get pitted very easy. You have to suck it up that if you have small toms, they won't be as deep sounding. Just try to get that tom/snare or kick to sound as good as you can. You'd be amazed at what a little time tuning can do for the kit. You might even find a sound you like better than what you were originally shooting for.
The other thing I see a lot of "newbs" doing is to tape up and dampen every drum...especially the kick. I like to have a little resonance going on. It adds to the overall sound and if you are playing with a band you'll never notice (and neither will anyone else) that your snare/toms/kick are a little "ringy". Most drummers that dampen the hell out of their drums are guys playing by themselves in basements/garages - and that won't help live on stage...especially unmiked!
Oh and there are all kinds of drum skins out there. Your sound can change so much from the kind of skin, so you'll have to do a little homework. Don't forget to change your bottom skins either. If they are the original skins they will need to be replaced if they are older than a year.
Check out some drummer forums like evans website and remo, you can ask questions there and most people give good advice.
For years I only "corrected" my drums when they were sounding bad...instead of getting them to sound good all of the time. I just wanted to play and couldn't be bothered with learning to tune. You will learn a lot by spending some time...and taking some notes when you hear cool sounds (to help you find them again). I am not saying that I love tuning and do it all the time, but I make a point of spending time (sometimes a few hours) getting my kit to sound good or try to get different sounds. The more drums you have the more time it will take.
Note if your kit does not stay in tune, or has stripped/missing lugs etc then get it fixed or get a better kit.
