Skiing with Warm Feet
One of the biggest complaints I hear from skiers is that they have cold feet. Let’s face it ski boots are not made for comfort. On cold days even if you have a properly fitted boot, you will be going in to warm your feet after a few runs. Using ski boot heaters will keep your feet warm and will make your ski day more enjoyable. Everyone I know who has tried them will never go back to skiing without them.
Ski boot warmers are the ultimate solution to cold feet. They use a thin heating element that you put under your boot insole. The heating element is connected to a rechargeable battery pack that attaches to the top of your boot. Control knobs on the battery pack allow you to control the temperature of your feet. The battery will easily last the entire day, and maybe 2 depending on which power setting you are using. Just remember to recharge the battery after your done and your good to go the next day.
Ski boot heaters are easy to install yourself or you can go to your local ski shop and have them do it for you. A great feature is that they are easy to transfer from one type of footwear to another.
You can use them for skiing one day, and then switch them over to another pair of boots so you can snowboard, snowshoe, hunt, or fish with warm feet the next day.
They are 2 brands of boot heaters on the market, Hotronics and Therm-ic. I know people that have both brands and they both work equally well. Both of the manufacturers have a few different models depending on your needs.
I installed the Supermax Footwarmer by Therm-ic in my boots at the beginning of this season, and have been loving skiing with warm feet.

Need help buying my snowboard setup!! Boots Bindings Board??
I'm about 5'8" 140 pounds, size 8.5 - 9 street shoe. I have pretty narrow feet.
I will mostly be on groomed trails but I want to eventually maybe hit the park. Basically I want that option. So all mountain free ride style
I went riding twice with some friends last year on a rental. I feel like I caught on really quick for going only twice. I can make it down the mountain at good speed on easy-intermediate runs Im thinking I will be able to progress a lot this year and I want a board that can progress with me and last atleast two seasons. Most importantly I want a great boot and I think I will be getting my boots first. I really like the burton ICS EST board binding setup but think thats too advanced/expensive?
Willing to spend probably up to 450 on a board, 175 on boots, and 175 on bindings. I don't want to sacrifice any quality esp. in boots.
Also I'm not into girly snowboard graphics.
What about a men's board?

First, mens boards are no different than women's - other than the graphics. Second, there is no reason to spend $750 on a setup that only needs to cost $500. Forget the Burton hype and go with a great brand that doesn't cost a bundle.

I would suggest the following brands: Ride or K2. You may not want a women's board because of the graphics, but you will be able to get a great deal. The Ride Grace, K2 Skyla and K2 Luna are all favorites for improving riders.
Check out some of the clearance deals available now in the off season. Do you have a Sports Authority near you? They have a Sept (?) clearance every year. On line - there are lots of good shops there too.

As far as bindings go, you can't go wrong with the Ride EX or something similar - all metal buckels and hardware that won't break. For boots, go to a local shop and try on everything they have - get the ones that feel like they were made for you. Size them a little tight (they will "pack out" as the foam compresses) but not too tight - you might want to size boots with a normal sock and wear a thicker wool blend once your boots are broken in.
